Why
did people in the Old Testament live so long?
From the very first book in the Bible, in
the book of Genesis it mentions that some people lived several
hundred years, it's not important for the Bible to prove to someone
who is not a believer why did God do this, since the Bible was
created for believers to increase their faith and not as a book of
hard cold evidence to prove God truly exsist to the non beliver in a
court of law.
The truth is, until a non beliver has accepted
Jesus as his personal Savior and Lord, his heart will not
understand.
So don't stand there trying to convince someone
who does not understand until your blue in the face. Just wait until
the Holy Spirit convicts them and changes their heart. It is not up
to us to try and get people to believe that they should be saved or
to belive any stories in the Bible. We are just the messengers, God
is the way who shapes and mold our hearts to accept Him.
I believe that the reasons that God allowed many of His spiritual
leaders to live such a long time, long ago is because they needed to
make sure that the many followers who were listening to God's
spiritual leaders had kept His commandments and laws.
If the spiritual leader died in his seventies,
how soon would God's people begin to lose focus and sight on
building a new nation glorifying God.
Just like when we hear a story and we want to
share it with someone else, even if it was a short joke. How many
times did we misrepresent the important details to the story or even
the punch line to a joke we just heart the same day.
Think about how distorted our important stories
would have been.
Trying to pass them down from generation
to generation about who God was and why we should do it His way if
we kept changing the story line every day.
I thank God that one of the reasons to keep
these blessed people alive for generations was so that we could
finally learn how to be blessed by keeping God's Will and His way
straight.
