Let's find out what God says about domestic violence and taking vengeance against others

"Vengeance is mine saith the Lord!" 

 "for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord." (Romans 12:19)

God did not say vengeance is yours. He said vengeance is His. If you want to be on the receiving end of God's blessings and favors, you have to truly understand what it means to give it completely over to the Lord.

"Do not say I'll pay you back for this wrong! Wait for the Lord, and He will deliver you."  (Proverbs 20:22)

"See that no one pays back evil for evil, but always try to do good to each other and to everyone else."     (2 Thessalonians 5:15)

 I know most of you will agree with me that there is too much violence in the world today. We can't even turn on the T.V. to watch the weather forecast until the news media gives us our daily dose of family members killing other family members, or other unbelievable and insane situations that tragically seem to be the normal news of the day. I don't envy law enforcement that has to respond everyday to a domestic violence situation; they're so unpredictable and dangerous to the officers responding.  

"Don't seek vengeance. Don't bear a grudge; but love your neighbor as yourself, for I am Jehovah." (Leviticus 19:18)

PRAY FOR OUR LAW ENFORCEMENT TO BE PROTECTED AND BLESSED!

  "Blessed is he who has regard for the weak; the Lord delivers him in times of trouble. The Lord will protect him and preserve his life; he will bless him in the land and not surrender him to the desires of his foes." (Psalm 41:1-2)

I remember years ago, while I was still in grade school, of my promise that I had made with God; that if He would help me, that I would help out all others who God would put in my path. So here I was, a freshman in high school, walking with a friend of mine around the block that I lived on. Suddenly you could hear someone screaming and yelling for help. It seemed like all the neighbors whom were watching did not want to get involved. You could hear the sickening sound of the air forcefully being knocked out of the woman's stomach from the man who was savagely hitting her. All the while she was screaming, "He's going to kill me!"

 In the two different times that I had tried to help two different women by telling the men to stop, both women literally turned on me; one of the women told me to mind my own business. (After he stopped beating on her)

"Never pay back evil for evil. Do things in such a way that everyone can see you are honest clear through." (Romans 12:17)

And the other women was even kind enough to take her middle finger to show me that I was number one in her book, making the man who just moments ago who was beating her senseless like a rag doll feel like he should be rewarded with a trophy for "Citizen of the year."

And in the two different times after getting involved to help the woman, they would then smile and take the man by the hand and walk back into the house, even though I had ring-side seats to watch the next freak show. I was not going to stick around to see the beginning of round two.

"God blesses those who are merciful, for they will be shown mercy" (Matthew 5:7)

A PARENT'S PURPOSE IN LIFE IS TO FIX THEIR CHILD'S BROKEN HEART

If you ever have to call the police for help, whether you are the man or the woman, and they have to make a judgment call to take your sweetheart to jail, don't turn on the police. Remember, you called them for help. 

You can sort this dramatic event out later. Trying to obstruct justice will only escalate the matter into a more violent situation, just like the domestic dispute turned on me, and I was just a high school kid trying to be helpful. Police have been stabbed, shot and killed by the very person who called them for help because the police had no choice but to arrest the person who was physically abusing them in the first place.

Satan is hoping that you react with anger, bitterness and hate to either your sweetheart or to the police officer so that both of you now end up in jail or someone gets hurt or killed.

God wants you to turn to Him and pray that everyone's heart is filled with love, peace, and the clarity of mind to understand that the most important thing right now is the welfare of your children. God wants you to understand this truth. As terrible as things may seem right now in your life, it is more important for you to know "how you react to what is happening to you right now is far more important to your children and the police officers who are trying to help you right now."

By the way that you react, you have the choice and the power to bring peace and tranquillity to your children. Who better than yourself as their loving parent is capable of comforting and quieting the fears that are causing such heart ache in their dramatizing little hearts? Who better than you is able to dry and stop the tears that are streaming down your precious child's face? Your child needs you to understand that's how they feel right now.

And they really need you to fix their broken hearts from this very dramatic time in their young lives. They need to hear you say everything is going to be all right and mean it. That is your priority and purpose in your life as their mother or father. Your purpose as a parent is to fix your broken home by first fixing your child's broken heart. The life changing lesson that you are setting as an example to your loved ones will help stop the curse of family violence being passed down from generation to generation.

Trust in God and give it all to Him so that he can turn this into a blessing each and every time.

"for I am to cast all my cares upon Him." (1 Peter 5: 7)

IT'S NOT ABOUT GLORIFYING SATAN!

"Don't repay evil for evil. Don't snap back at those who say unkind things about you Instead, pray for God's help for them, for we are to be kind to others, and God will bless us for it." (1 Peter 3:9)

   If you are in a domestic dispute, as millions of people have been in, it is not about reacting back with violence to a family member or loved one and glorifying Satan by acting out with vengeance and hate, resulting into further retaliation and losing our freedom in society and depriving our loved ones the benefit of our love and wisdom. It's about stopping the curse of violence that is in your life right now and glorifying God. 

It's about giving it completely over to God to deal with. It is not about vengeance and hate.

 Always ask God to shape their lives to be a blessing to Him and to you.

"God will humble your enemy before you and make them a step stool beneath your feet"

"And I will execute great vengeance upon them with furious rebukes; and they shall know that I am Lord, when I lay my vengeance upon them." (Ezekiel 25:17)

That's why I love God so much; He's the real deal! He's the only thing in this world that will never let us down. He is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow.

"Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today, and forever." (Hebrews 13:8)

When he says don't judge or be judged, he will bring us down each and every time to a place of total humility. And this is the cool part: we think we have a reason to judge instead of to show love. Then we are on the receiving end of God's judgment and nobody does it better than God. Nobody!

Do not rejoice when God takes his vengeance on the enemy!

To stay in God's favor, He warns us not to have an unforgiving heart, as well as for us not to rejoice over our enemies when they fall. Or He will take away His wrath from them.

 "Rejoice not when thine enemy falleth, and let not thine heart be glad when he stumbleth: Lest the Lord see it, and it displease him and he turn away his wrath from him." (Proverbs 24:17-18)

Our destiny is shaped by the choices that we make today

"So lets learn to stay blessed and God will do the rest!"

"Remain at rest and hold our peace, the battle is the Lords." (Exodus 14:14)
