Why People
of integrity Lie?
Most
of us have witness this on the evening news about people of
integrity
lying.
From the highest office
of the Presidency to polictical leaders, to teachers and in human
resources from law enforcement to Church leaders.
Depending on what they
fear they will lose, such as the election, their families, or
their status of integrity, most of these people that are
mentioned above will lie to avoid an scandal or loss of their
position.
Its important to point
out that most people in these positions of integrity are honest, law
abiding and have the highest integrity.
We have all been there, where we are
confronted with the opportunity and the choice to influence some
else so that they favor us over
another.
Depending where we are in our faith
walk in our lives, will determine if we pass the this defining
moment of having
integrity.
Will we say something positive about
the other person, or will we knowling take a half truth and twist it
just enough so that we instill our selfishness and our fears all
designed to control the other person's decesion and choice at the
sake of losing the high standard of our
integrity.
We have all wittnessed this sad and tragic
event every time a political race starts.
When this tragedy evolves from decent
people who we felt had integrity. We as a people of this great
Country are saddened and feel completely repulsed by their dark
hearts and hidden agendas. We fill our deepest trust has been
violated.
Just so other
people will trust them and not the other person,
The first ten minutes of the morning
or evening news is filled with stories of people who once loved each
other and because they did not give their problems completely
over to God, where one spouse would kill the other or their own
children just to hurt the other one or they end up going to divorce
court fighting and lying about each other's character and
integrity hoping to have the Judge rule the other one as a unfit
parent.
This happened to our Lord and Savior
Jesus Christ, even though the spiritual leaders knew that it was
against God's Will to bear false wittness against
another.
They became consumed with their own
fears and selfishness of controlling others instead of trusting the
will of the people to make their own choice.
The spiritual leaders back in Jesus
time felt threatened by His popularity and then jealousy started to
set in, then bitterness and if left to fester deep in our spirits,
it soon turns from a emotional hatred and grows into a physical
malice towards others.
The Priest knew that if they could use their
position of integrity to have enough people to foolishly
believe their lies about Jesus, that they could create a false
perception of Jesus that He was a bad guy and that others will
blindly and ignorantly side with the
masses.
We all have
a choice to either be blessed or be cursed by the choices that we
make each day!
God's Word is filled with how
God is bound by His promises to bless us or curse us and lying and
bearing false wittness of others who are doing God's work is one of
the ways that will keep our lifes in
mediocrity.
It does not
matter to God what position of integrity that we hold in society
today or if we side with the popularity of the masses.
If we in anyway,
shape or form try to use our position of integrity to lie and bear
false wittness of others that are trying to do God's work than we
are doing Satan's work as Rick Warren explains in his best selling
book; "A Purpose Driven Life!"
I have
personally given out his book every now and then, including today to
the air conditioner man who just left my home just a hour ago. (May
12, 2007)
We are all aware of how Hollywood had
made numerous movies with the identical premise showing the
popularity of a polictical leader who has decided to have sincere
compassion, integrity and brutal honesty in the way that they run
for office and keeping their promises after they are
elected.
Sadly we have seen this event take
place when a political election starts, everyone starts off as a
nice person, because they want the public to like them.
Then one side or both parties decide
to take their gloves of integrity
off and then the mud slinging of lies, gossip, and false
perception starts, hoping that enough of it will stick.
It does not matter if their lies or
false perceptions of the other person are not real or even if
they can be proven false.
They know most of us will not take
the time in our personal life to do the necessary research to search
for the truth.
They know that if they can float a
rumor long enough that the false perception that is created will
soon be known to the masses as the truth. (Our current
President Bush knows about this unethical pratice going on and has
used the term "float a rumor" in his speeches to the
Country)
God will bless each one of
us with the clarity of mind, body and spirit.
God expects each one of us to seek
the truth and not for the medial to spoon feed us their
version.
A very wise Pastor once told me
something over 30 years ago that I will always remember, something
that I have never heard another Pastor say.
He shared a simple
truth and principal that if we apply it to our everyday
lives, may help stop people from controlling and influencing us,
including all these mass cult suicides, which is the tragic
side effect of believing in false perceptions and lies of others
like our parents are from the devil.
As well as help us pick the right
polictical candidate in the future as well as for our children's
future.
He simply said; Michael, when ever I
quote the scriptures, don't belive me, go look it up!
"A false
witness shall not be unpunished, and he that speaketh lies shall not
escape." Proverbs 19:15
